Should I Get Botox? 7 Facts to Know Before Your Appointment

Botox is one of the most popular anti-aging cosmetic treatments of our time, and the popularity of this treatment is increasing year by year. In fact, this treatment was not limited to women who wanted to remove wrinkles but also developed and became a share of men as well. In an interview with Dr. Rory McGoldrick, a certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon in Dubai Cosmetic Surgery explained that Botox has many uses from Laughter lines to the treatment of sweating, migraines, and others.

There are 7 facts to know before taking a Botox procedure:

1. Botox is a non-permanent treatment:

There are always those who believe that once obtained Botox treatment will disappear fine lines and in fact that Botox lasts for 3-4 months depending on the person’s lifestyle and the amount of Botox injection. On the other hand, if you do not like the results of Botox treatment, you should wait for 4 months to get rid of the results, because it can not be reversed or altered like some other skin fillings.

2. The results are not immediate:

Botox will not erase your wrinkles immediately after injection. You may have to wait up to 48 hours to see a slight difference. The best time to see the full results is 5-7 days.

3. Botox is not for the lips:

Most people who have not tried Botox injection do not have enough information on how the injection works. Botox paralyzes the muscles where they are injected by blocking the signals from the nerves to it, making the injected muscles unable to contract, thus the skin surface becomes smooth. And if you need to add volume to your lips, fillers are the right choices.

4. Negative side effects may occur:

If you are worried about the minimum bruising that may occur if the needle hit blood vessels, it should be the least of your concern. When Botox is not injected by a qualified plastic surgeon or experienced dermatologist, there may be several negative effects, but more importantly, paralysis of the wrong muscles, anywhere from the eye to the throat, is observed. This is because there are strategic areas where the injection should take place, not anywhere or randomly.
Also, we should always remember that Botox cannot be reversed and there is no known antidote to deactivate it so you will have to wait until its effect is gone.

5. Botox is not a one-time treatment:

Botox requires maintenance to maintain a smooth skin appearance thanks to the action of Botox, so you should inject Botox at least every 3-4 months, because the effects of Botox are temporary, and that wrinkles that have been paralyzed Botox will revive itself after Toxin is gone.

6. You should do research:

It may seem like an exaggeration, but you really need to look for a doctor in addition to the facility you plan to undergo treatment. This is because you need a practitioner who not only knows how and where to inject but a veterinarian who achieves natural results.

7. Keep your head up:

This means that you should not bend in the four hours after you undergo Botox injections, even for a second. This is to avoid any possible consequences that may occur if toxin moves from the target area to undesirable areas before absorption due to increased blood circulation
